Expansion Update 5/15/2015
Plattsburgh International Airport is still working on phase II of its $55 Million Dollar expansion. We are excited to share with you this week’s news and updates about the expansion.
Here’s what has happened:
Structural steel work on the ticket counter area and front entrance area continued. This important step will allow for more ticket counters to easily accommodate our expected increase in passengers.
Construction partitions were set up and preparation for demolition at the front entrances has begun. The demolition will allow for work to begin on two front entrances with an elevator, stairs and escalators in between, giving passengers access to the second floor.
What you can expect next:
Structural steel and roofing work will continue as the construction crew begins to tie together the old structure with the new, an integral part for making a seamless transition.
Passengers please be aware that there will be ongoing construction to the entry area of the terminal. Walkways will be marked for use.
July 6 - July 10 NYS DOT will be working on Route 22 from the City of Plattsburgh to the Salmon River Road, this work will result in lane closures during the day. Passengers should expect possible delays and plan accordingly.
Also, please pardon the noise during this phase of construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Airport Staff or Police Office on duty.
